Why use organic rapeseed oil in skin care?

Rapeseed oil, also called Sweden's gold or Sweden's olive oil, has many uses areas. Not least, it has extraordinary skin care properties.Rapeseed oil is easily absorbed, softens and nourishes the skin. It supplies the skin with nutrients, vitamins and healthy fatty acids. Rapeseed oil also contains vitamin E and phytosterols which can act anti-inflammatory and protective for the skin. In addition to the skin care properties, our Rapsodine heart beats extra hard for rapeseed oil because it is produced in Sweden. In this way, we can reduce our climate footprint from long-distance transport. Rapeseed oil is actually one of the few vegetable oils that is suitable for skin care, which we can grow in a larger scale in Sweden.

For which skin types is rapeseed oil suitable?

Rapeseed oil is suitable for all skin types. Thanks to its moisturizing and caring properties that make it particularly suitable for dry and problematic skin. Rapeseed oil is also effective to relieve eczema and skin cracks, for example on feet and hands. Its natural and caring formula is also excellent for use on children's delicate skin. There is

studies showing that rapeseed oil in its pure form is better than cortisone.

Benefits of cold-pressed organic rapeseed oil

We only use organic cold-pressed rapeseed oil in our skin and hair care products. That the rapeseed oil is cold-pressed means that the rapeseed is gently pressed at a temperature which not exceed 35 degrees Celsius. The process means that the rapeseed oil retains important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that otherwise disappear in a refined oil.

Rapsodine contains organic cold-pressed rapeseed oil from Gunnarshögs farm in Skåne, Sweden. We have a close and long-standing collaboration with Gunnarshögs farm, which manufactures the cold-pressed organic rapeseed oil we use in our products. They are just like us a family business with its own manufacturing that puts sustainability first. On their family farm in southern Sweden, they produce cold-pressed rapeseed oil with rapeseed from their own rapeseed fields, as well as rapeseed from other farmers. This allows them to ensure sustainable quality throughout production - from seed to bottle. We think that feels really good.
